{"id":431,"date":"2026-04-15T13:35:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T19:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/macjoey.com\/?p=431"},"modified":"2026-04-15T14:35:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T20:35:31","slug":"rebuild-of-the-home-router-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/macjoey.com\/?p=431","title":{"rendered":"Rebuild of the home router again&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After running an overkill 40gig network home router (T5810 server, Pfsense (OS), 40gig network cards) &#8211; which was stable, I decided to a smaller box to become my home router.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Opnsense (OS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SFF HP EliteDesk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>16gigs ram<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>i5-7500 (4 cpus)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>500gb ssd<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DELL Intel X520-DA2 10Gb SFP+ network card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wiitek 10G SFP+ to RJ45 Copper Module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Wall (RG56) &gt; RG56 to 2.5gig (RG45) &gt; Wiltek adapter  and the other SFP+ goes to the switch for input. Everything is working as it should.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One problem i had is that the DELL Intel X520-DA2 10Gb SFP+, didn&#8217;t recognize the Wiltek 2.5gig adapter.
